CLAT 2024: Dear Candidates the  Rajiv Gandhi National University of Law, Punjab has released the notification for the CLAT Exam 2024. The CLAT is known as Common Law Admission Test for various  courses in the field of Law. The CLAT is the National Level entrance test for the admission to UG,PG and integrated law courses. The Candidates passed their 10+2 exam can apply for the UG courses and the candidates who have completed their UG in Law can apply for the Post graduate courses.

CLAT Exam 2024

Dear Candidates The CLAT 2024 exam was held on December 10, 2023. The CLAT 2024 results were declared on January 10, 2024. The first provisional allocation list for seat allotment was released on January 20, 2024. Subsequent rounds of counselling may be conducted based on available seats. Currently, candidates who secured seats through the first provisional allocation list have begun attending classes at their respective National Law Universities. Others may participate in further rounds of counselling if vacancies remain.

CLAT Exam 2024 Application Form

The CLAT Exam 2024 Application form will be available from July 1, 2023 – November 10, 2023. All the interested candidates can apply from the official website. The CLAT 2024 Application form will be accepted in online mode only. Candidates can apply till  December 3, 2023 (offline).

The Applying Candidates needs to pay the CLAT 2024 Application form fees via online mode only. The General Category Students needs to pay the Rs 4000/- . However for reserved category students needs to pay only Rs 3500/- only. The Online application application form fees can be paid through Debit Card/Credit Card/Net Banking.

CLAT Exam 2024 Eligibility Criteria

All the applying candidates must know the Eligibility Criteria set by the exam conducting authority.The CLAT Exam 2024 Eligibility Criteria is given below ,candidates are advised to read the eligibility criteria carefully –

  • For UG Courses : The candidates must have passed 10+2 or its equivalent  exam from the recognized board with minimum  45% marks (40% for SC/ST candidates).
  • For PG Courses : The candidates must have passed  the LLB or 5 year Integrated LLB degree or its equivalent degree from a recognized university with minimum 55% marks (50% for SC/ST candidates).
  •  There is no upper age limit has been defined  for CLAT examination.

Since the exam has already happened and counselling is underway, the upcoming important dates will be related to subsequent counselling rounds (if any) and the commencement of academic sessions for admitted candidates.

Keep in mind that CLAT is conducted only once a year, so the next exam dates will pertain to CLAT 2025. The Consortium of National Law Universities usually announces the schedule for the next year’s exam around May-June.

CLAT 2024 Exam Pattern

The CLAT Exam 2024  Question paper  will be consisting of 200 multiple Choice Questions . The total allowed time is 2.00 hrs.Each question carrying one marks. The distribution of question paper will be as :-

  • Reasoning – 40 Q
  • Legal Aptitude – 50 Q
  • English & Comprehension – 40 Q
  • Elementary Mathematics – 20 Q
  • General Knowledge and Current Affairs – 50 Q

There will be Negative Marking of 1/4th for each wrong answered questions.
